September Disability Benefits Payment – Social Security Announces 2 New SSDI Payment Dates

Social Security has confirmed that two disability benefits payments will be delivered to SSDI beneficiaries who requested benefits after May 1997 in the coming weeks. Millions of seniors and disabled people who cannot work rely on Social Security funds to cover their needs.

One in five Americans, 67 million, get Social Security benefits, according to SSA figures. Four of five claimants are elderly; the other five are Social Security Disability Insurance or young survivors of dead workers.

Requirements to qualify for the 2 new payments from the disability benefits program

SSDI applications are challenging, but if you meet all requirements, you may be accepted. SSDI applicants must show they cannot work or undergo substantial gainful activity (SGA) and pay payroll taxes before becoming disabled. Because disability payments may not cover all your expenses, you may require supplementary income.

A person must also meet the Social Security definition of disability, which includes being unable to work for pay due to a significant medical condition that has lasted a year or more or being at imminent risk of death. Some SSDI beneficiaries may also get SSI.

These two programs have different purposes, yet many people can qualify for both by meeting their tight standards. Under current SSA guidelines, you can receive up to your monthly salary in SSI payments without filing two applications.

When will beneficiaries receive their disability benefits this month?

According to this year’s Social Security payment schedule, disabled people who claimed benefits after May 1997 will receive their benefits on the second, third, and fourth Wednesdays of each month, unless it is a weekend or holiday.

If you qualify for these benefits and do not get your check on time, wait three mailing days before contacting the SSA. Mark your calendars for the two guaranteed payment dates below:

Tuesday the 18th, the third. A person with a disability who was born between November 11th and December 20th will get their disability payments.

Wednesday the 25th, the fourth. As long as they meet certain standards and were born between January 21 and December 31, they will get their disability benefits.

In general, disabled people get disability benefits worth about $1,537 a month. Those who are qualified for the highest payment can get up to $3,822 a month in disability benefits. However, there is another payment amount available for people who are blind and qualified. These people will get $2,590 every month.

Do not forget that the Social Security Administration has a meaning of blindness that you must meet in order to be a blind beneficiary.

A central vision acuity of 20/200 or less in the better eye with a correcting lens is what the law says makes someone blind. If you want to know if you qualified, the SSA will look at your best-corrected central visual acuity for distance in your better eye.
