Look of the Week: Sabrina Carpenter honors Madonna in vintage Oscars gown

Lady Gaga debuted at the MTV Video Music Awards by singing about fame's dangers, being dragged out from under a chandelier, and bleeding to death in front of celebrities.

In 2009, rapper Ye (then Kanye West) stage-crashed 19-year-old Taylor Swift and suggested her Best Female Video prize.

Her rendition of “Paparazzi”—lamenting unrequited love and the evil affects of tabloids—has faded into Gaga folklore due to poor quality.

In the few pixels available, Gaga starts the performance in an all-white bejeweled, asymmetric lace bodysuit, cloak, and thigh-high boots.

At the song's crescendo, she lurched back from her piano and thick blood poured from her abdomen, causing a gasp.

“I’m your biggest fan, I’ll follow you until you love me,” Gaga screamed, her once-pristine clothing now scarlet.

“(It) gives me chills every time I watch it,” Olivia Rodrigo told MTV 2021. “I think Lady Gaga is our generation's best performer.”

She started 'bleeding' from clenched fists while singing "vampire" at this year's Grammy Awards, spreading artificial blood on her arms and neck.
